Hero Combo Plan for Haino Came Too Late

When a new hero underperforms in Honor of Kings, the developers rarely admit a design flaw—instead, they often believe it’s the players who haven’t mastered the hero. According to Melbet App, many of these heroes participate in community co-creation combo projects, such as Doria in the past and now Haino, who launched around the same time. Recently, Haino’s popularity hit rock bottom, with one of the lowest pick and win rates in the game. In response, the developers opened a co-creation event to gather ideas from experienced players and revive the hero’s usability.

Although the winning combo plans were finally announced, they arrived far too late. As the saying goes, “People talk behind your back because they’re afraid to face you head-on.” By the time the results were published, Haino no longer needed help—he had already found his own way to thrive. In fact, many players now believe he’s even more frustrating to deal with than Doria from Three-Body. A closer look at the winning strategies reveals they’re underwhelming—mostly just tactical descriptions like poking enemies from range using Skill 1 or spamming it like an ADC. Ultimately, the combos still revolve around simple sequences like 1-2-1-2-3 or minor variations.

Melbet App data shows that players who tried “Tank Haino” know his skills function independently—you can just tap wherever something lights up. Combos, in this case, are more myth than reality. All three of Haino’s abilities offer healing, especially his ultimate, which heals more the lower his health is. Time and again, he survives with a sliver of health only to spring back with a full bar. With such a powerful life-steal mechanism, why build him as a mage? Just turn him into a full tank and let him brawl. Once you lower your expectations and reduce reliance, everything becomes easier.

So Haino shifted roles—from a traditional mage to a jungler, then to the solo lane. Full-tank Haino doesn’t care about damage. Stack up items like Burning Cloak, Undying Bird, and Explosive Shield, and he becomes a wall nobody can break. At full build, his HP can reach 20,000—more than most tanks or supports. Suddenly, a “mage” commands the kind of durability that turns heads. Haino’s skills only heal in melee combat, especially his second ability: the more enemies it hits, the more HP he recovers. Why bother kiting? Just charge in, hit face-to-face, and recover while dishing out damage. Some players reported that he absorbed over 60,000 damage in one teamfight—making even traditional tanks like Cheng Yaojin look weak in comparison.

If Haino were still played as a squishy mage, sure, combos might matter. But combos can’t boost his base stats. Techniques improve performance ceilings, not core strength. In tank mode, Haino’s skills don’t even chain together, making the whole idea of a combo build meaningless. As Melbet App reports, even the co-creation winners might now feel embarrassed. Haino doesn’t need saving anymore—he’s the one dominating now. Not stepping on him while he’s down would be a kindness.
